To commemorate the event, Priyanka chopra invited the whos’ who of Bollywood.
A video was also commissioned to record the event for posterity.
Priyanka assured all of her fans who had gathered on the occasion that she would ensure that latest news and updates about her numerous movies and events are immediately flashed on the website.
The official website will also enable Priyanka Chopra to interact with her fans on a one-to-one basis.
She already does it on twitter. However, a personal interaction on her own website will obviously have much more meaning for her fans and followers.

My name is Karishma Pandey ( 19 years old ) and I live in Sevoke Road, Siliguri, West Bengal – 734001. I’m a 2nd year student in the law department of the North Bengal university. I stay with my mother, Smt. Debasmita Pandey Dev and my younger sister Barkha Pandey ( 16 years old ). We are in a hand to mouth situation with dreadful financial crisis and other problems that I will be staying below.
My father Mr. Umesh Pandey deceased back in the year 2015. That left my mom alone with two daughters to take care of alone. My mom is a single child with no parents and no own relatives. She was totally a housewife and after my dad passed away she somehow managed to run the living. It was very tough and we tried several times to contact my father’s family who belong to UP ( my grandfather and others ) but none of our attempts succeeded. Because of intercaste marriage my grandparents didnt accept us or our mother as there own so we never saw them or met them in our lives though they made sure to take news of everything that occurred in the family. With no direct contact we send them several letters and talked through mediators but all went in vain. My mom’s health was deteriorating and the job she did ( was involved in construction line ) was risky for a alone lady because of no proper schedule or timing. All we wanted from them was to only support us a little financially and play the role of a guardian because we had no one as such. When all these attempts failed my mom considered getting married again in order to give us a good life.
In 2018 January, my mom was married to Mr. Pankaj Kr. Dev, an NRI from Canada, whose whole family lives in Siliguri itself. Seeing the age of my stepdad and his family and also getting assurance that they agree with all our situations and needs, it seemed appropriate to get into the relationship. They were married under the special marriage act in Arya samaaj temple, Siliguri. The marriage was a totally arranged social marriage and we had a lot of hopes from it. But soon after the marriage my mom underwent domestic violence by my step father and Inlaws and within a couple of months itself he left for Canada alone, without any proper information, leaving us here in India clueless.
While getting married it was a deal that my mother should leave her job and stay as a proper housewife and we agreed to it. But after he left my mother was again left alone. We were left in the dark. For a few months he contacted us sometimes through emails and WhatsApp and gave a little bit of our maintenance, but that was all. Since 2019 October we haven’t received a single cent from him to run the family nor we have been able to contact him since the beginning of January 2019. My mom managed a job but because of other pressures she lost it last year in December. We tried to make several contacts with my stepdad and his family but it was all in vain. His family denied to help us contact their brother and infact treated us very violently. Finding no option we had to put a DV case against them. We were hopeful that things will get better but then even the police and the lawyers bailed on us and betrayed us. We were stranded helpless.
We wrote many letters to various government departments starting from home ministry to chief minister, president, prime minister, human rights commission, embassies of both countries etc but didnt get any relief from anywhere.
People we try to seek help from get sold. All are ways are closed by them on purpose. There have been several attacks and threats etc on us due to which we live in a fear all the time. My mom hasn’t had any job since 2020 began. Soon there was lockdown and all our savings finish. We are still seeking help but no relief has come to us yet. My mother was running the house by taking loans but now people have denied to help us. We belong to a well led family but now we are in the situation that even we cannot mange the money for the next day. We live in a rented house and we couldn’t pay its rent all year due to which we are to leave the house within 15 days but we do not even have the money for that. All the cases running in the court seem dead with no hopes for us.
Maam, we are unable to pay for the basic needs of life, let alone education and extra expenses. Even after having a husband and a home of our own my mother is struggling helplessly and we are in the streets. We do not have any option other than to kill ourselves at this stage and I am very hopeful that at this point of time you can help us. I beg for your help. We are in immediate need maam.
This is as brief as I could explain my family’s situation, but there is a lot of more troubles we are facing and our only light of hope is you. Please help us. I will be on your feet for the rest of my life and be highly grateful. Please help. We do not have much time.
