The Navrangpura police have launched an investigation by filing a medico-legal case. Pragnesh Shastri, the managing trustee of the school, stated that the girl had been enrolled at the institution for the past five years. “At the time of the incident, students were outside their classrooms for recess. Witnesses reported that three to four children saw the girl approaching the parapet and attempted to stop her. One of them allegedly grabbed her hand, but she managed to break free and jumped before any teachers or staff could be notified.”

The fall resulted in severe head trauma, a concussion, and fractured limbs. She was initially taken to a nearby hospital by EMRI 108. Later that day, her parents moved her to a hospital in the Thaltej area, where she remained unconscious and under critical care in the ICU, according to sources. “She has sustained head injuries and a severe concussion from the fall. Additionally, she has injuries to her hands and legs due to the impact,” medical officials reported. Inspector A A Desai from the Navrangpura police station mentioned that the girl was unconscious and in critical condition when a police team arrived at the hospital. “We have yet to determine the reason behind the possible suicide attempt. We are in the process of gathering more information regarding the incident,” he added. “At this point, we do not suspect foul play, but we are exploring all possibilities. It is premature to speculate on why she took this action. We will be speaking with her parents and teachers to gain insight into her background,” stated Safin Hasan, the in-charge DCP (Zone I). “Efforts are underway to obtain CCTV footage from the premises that may provide clarity on the circumstances surrounding the incident,” an investigator noted.
